Dram-Feast | Scotch whisky paired with Scottish food

Enjoy a two-hour tutored whisky and food tasting experience featuring Scotch whiskies, each perfectly paired with to Scottish delicacies by Master of the Quaich, Ann Miller, The Dram Queen.

Savour a tasting of four Scotch whiskies, paired with canapé-sized tasters of smoked salmon, venison salami, and local cheese served with oatcakes plus a final sweet treat.

An entertaining and informative experience in Ann’s Dram Room showcasing Scotland’s wonderful food and whiskies as well as their stories.

This experience is an exclusive special event for Visit Moray Speyside’s Taste of Summer on selected dates during June 2024.

  • As each dram is tasted, Ann discusses the regions where it is produced, its distinctive features, and relates these to the distillery featured in the tasting.
  • She explains each distillery’s different production, distillation and maturation methods and links them to the creation of flavours in the drams.
  • Ann shares tasting notes, encouraging you to discover as much as possible in each dram and gain confidence in your capacity to appreciate Scotch whisky as well as explaining her inspiration for each pairing.

Ann has created many successful whisky dinners, in collaboration with chefs and culinary experts, to match Scotland’s larder with its delicious drams. She developed the successful Aberlour Whisky Dinners with whisky expert, writer and chef Martine Nouet. These were a highlight of the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival for a dozen years, always selling out rapidly. She has hosted many more food and whisky events in Speyside and around the world over the years.

Ann is always happy to create and host dinners combining the best local produce with great drams and to entertain guests with anecdotes about the world of Scotch whisky. These dinners can be organised in conjunction with hotels or restaurants – in Speyside or beyond – to suit your own plans.

Fields of Flowers & Smoked Salmon Experience

Join the Dram Queen on the family farm for this special whisky tasting experience in her Dram Room, followed by an inspiring nature walk through fields of wildflowers to a picturesque pond to taste some more drams with locally smoked salmon.

Over the drams she shares the story of how the farm changed from growing barley for malt whisky to providing habitats for insects, birds, and other wildlife plus many entertaining anecdotes.

Workshops Pairing Whisky & Food

Join one of the Dram Queen’s workshops to explore successful combinations of whisky with a range of chocolate, cheeses, spices, or other delicious local food. Ann is always delighted to host workshops to help you discover what works best for you.
